Soft Closure Instuctions
Our teachers have been working hard preparing for a short-term, on-line delivery of curriculum for students. You should hear from teachers no later than Wednesday morning as to what to expect moving forward. Teacher communication will be through email, Google Classroom and Canvas. It is important that you continue working on those assignments that teachers put together. This is not a break, just a different way to receive the information. Here are a few key things to be aware of:
- If you need to access your locker to get supplies, you can do so this week during the hours of 8:30am to 12:00 noon. This should be a quick visit to grab what you need. Due to the public health concerns, it is not appropriate to “hang out” at school, meet friends or otherwise congregate at the school at this time.
- Teachers have been asked to respond to student within an appropriate amount of time. All teachers are available from 8am-1pm, but not necessarily on campus. We have been directed to limit the number of people in our building – this includes teachers, aides, secretaries, etc. Most teachers are working from home. If you need face to face assistance, this is going to be on a minimal basis and should be set up vial email. DO NOT just show up on campus hoping your teacher will be here.
- If your student needs counseling support, please email Mrs. Thomas at

Mrs. Thomas will be available to respond to emails during the same hours as teachers from 8:00am -1:00pm. Face to face assistant for counseling support will also be on a minimal basis and should be set up via email.
- If your Chromebook is having issues, watch for an email from the district for help. Students can also email me at

If you are having issues with internet service at your home and need to access Wi-Fi you can also email me to set up a time to get some help. Comcast does have a program to get Wi-Fi into homes. Visit https://corporate.comcast.com/covid-19 for additional information on low-cost in-home internet.
- All activities and athletics are cancelled. There should be no practices, tryouts, or other events associated with Snowcrest groups. All school facilities are CLOSED to the public for safety purposes. There should not be anybody on the fields, tennis courts or in the gym.
- Breakfast and lunch will not be available as Snowcrest during the break. The school district has identified locations that will serve a sack breakfast and a sack lunch. Our students can access Green Acres Elementary starting Wednesday, March 18th, and each continuing school day. Students may pick up a grab and go breakfast from 9:30 am -10:00 am and a grab and go lunch between 10:00am -10:30am. Meals will be free to students. Students will not be allowed to congregate at the school. They will need to literally grab and go.
Please be safe during this time. The goal of the closure if to prevent the spread of this virus. We all need to do our part to take care of our community. Be mindful of each other and be a good community member. If you know someone has needs, do your part. We have an amazing community. Thank you to our teachers, staff, student, parents, and guardians for their understanding during this time.
Sincerely,
Mrs.Hardy
